I heard Audrey was seen in a drunken fury with toilet paper hanging off one shoe and frequent wardrobe malfunctions including “Britneys” back in her day. Just that like JFK’s personal pecadilloes, the media didn’t cover that sort of thing in those days.
Shhhhh, KoaP, don’t spoil the fantasy. We desperately need it these days.
KoaP – I REFUSE to believe that.
REFUSE.
KOAP, I just don’t believe that. I have read MANY unflattering stories about her contemporaries, such as Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe, but I have never read anything negative about Audrey Hepburn – EVER.
It came out that Grace Kelly had multiple affairs with her older married co-stars. It came out that Loretta Young had Clark Gable’s illegitimate child (then pretended to adopt her own biological daughter). But what’s the worst you ever read about Audrey Hepburn? That she had an affair with Albert Finney on the set of “Two for the Road.” If there was anything negative to hear about her, I think we would have heard it by now.
Coincidentally yesterday I was scouting Palo Alto for a puzzle hunt I’m running soon, and guess what was featured in the windows of the Stanford Theater?
I melted.
I’m thinking KoP was kidding, but no, I’ve never read or heard of anything like that about Audrey, either. The closest thing was during the filming of “Funny Face,” when the director wanted her to wear white socks during her dance number. She was upset enough to protest that it would break up the line of the look, ran off crying, and returned shortly thereafter, ready to follow the director’s orders (but there were problems with her husband then at the time, as well). Something similar happened during “My Fair Lady.”
