As most probably know, Amy Winehouse is no longer with us. I didn’t know myself until I received a message from Mock stating “Amy Winehouse is officially no longer a superhero”. Although she has supplied the site with a lot of material for mocking, this is not one of them. I am amazed as I’m sure a lot of others that she lasted this long. I did find it a strange coincidence that she was 27 years old. For those that have not heard, there is supposedly something of a curse for rockers known to abuse drugs dying at the age of 27. Some call them members of the 27 club. It includes Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and others. Now it seems as Amy has joined them.

Here is an article about the “27″ Club.

Totally not surprised at her death. Am surprised she made it to 27. What a waste.
I’m shocked she made it this far as well. It’s such a shame that someone cannot (or will not) get past their addictions; despite all those that died before them doing the same thing.
If there is a Club related to musicians, and Hendrix, Morrison and Joplin (even Cobain) are members, I don’t think they’d let Winehouse past the bouncer….I’m just sayin…

I am always saddened but not surprised when another super star hits the back door because of their drug enhanced life style. I always think it’s going to be a wakeup call for the others. When I saw the news I envisioned Amy with bats flying out of her black beehive. RIP indeed.
What a waste… she was talented… I hope she can find peace now.
Maybe she should’ve gone to rehab afterall.
Very sad that she couldn’t or wouldn’t fight her addictions. RIP!
Sorry Captain, we can agree to disagree on that. I think she was a major talent with huge problems. RIP.
I feel that at the time of her tragic death she was an up and coming artist but I don’t think had realized her full potential before the
drugs put her down. She yo yoed with rehab but each time went back to drugs. There are a lot of recovering “drugaholics” that have made it out to function sober once again. She just wasn’t one of them.
Everyone who is remotely surprised by this, raise your hand…Not all at once now…anyone? Anyone?
Wait, the 27 club? How old is Li-Lo? Can we hope for her to be gone, soon, too?
I wasn’t shocked by this, but it is such a waste. I think that she was talented, she was just unable to beat her demons. RIP Amy…
RIP, skank.
It appears that age 27 is the age that the body just can’t take it anymore.
I WilderWomen. Man, Mock…is there a vendetta against me? Anyway, the sad thing is pretty soon she will be out of the news and out of everyone’s mind; just another small blurb in the history books. A small star that shone briefly and fadded quickly too soon and too sad.
