I’ll plan on updating this post for the next couple hours, adding in more dresses as I find them. Chime in with your thoughts, ok? And let me just give you a quick disclaimer. I am waaaay behind on knowing who the hot actors/actresses are these days. So some of these pics will be of people that I cannot identify, and I’ll need your help.
Pictures will start after the jump.
I THINK this dude is from the Social Network, but I could be totally wrong. In any case, he and his wife are absurdly gorgeous.
Mandy Moore, who’s apparently performing a song from Tangled tonight. I’m seeing a lot of this sort of nude colored crystally type of dress at the recent award shows. I can’t decide if I like it or not.
Anne Hathaway’s co-hosting tonight. She looks amazing, but the most amazing red dress I’ve seen so far is on Jennifer Hudson, who looks SPECTACULAR. As soon as I find a pic I’ll post it. But holy wow does she ever look gorgeous.
Amy Adams – I’m totally neutral on the dress, but if you’re watching the red carpet coverage on E, then you’ve probably seen the perfection that is her HAIR. She has just unbelievable hair, which is the kind of thing you notice if you have total CRAP hair like I do.
Michelle Williams – I love this – it’s Chanel, and it’s fabulous. However, when she got out of her limo, it appeared she was unable to actually walk in it without looking like a penguin, so if she wins, it’ll be interesting to see her climb up on stage.
No idea who this is – but this could seriously be one of the most hideous frocks ever put on a female body of all time.
I don’t know who this is either, but I caught a snippet of her interview with Ryan Seacrest, and Ryan said to her, “I can see myself in your dress” – meaning all of the shards of mirror stuff on it were reflective – but of course I took it as meaning that he totally wanted to wear it, and it completely gave me the giggles.
Here it is, my favorite dress of the night so far. SO TOTALLY SPECTACULAR. I couldn’t love it any more.
I love Cate’s hair, but this dress, even though it’s hard to see at this angle, is HEINOUS. There’s this weird circular area on the front, and then there are these horrific yellow shoulder accents which make no sense whatsoever. Ick.
They showed Marisa Tomei from the head down, and I was thinking that the dress was sleek and simple and awesome, until all of a sudden the camera panned down to the EXPLOSION that started at one of her hips, and then it just became a disaster.
Scarlett Johansson – meh. I like her messy hair, and I like the color of her dress, but I can’t tell if it’s supposed to be sort of see through or if that’s a mistake or what.
Here’s a close up of Cate’s dress. ICK.
OMG YOU GUYS HELENA BONHAM CARTER LOOKS ALMOST NORMAL. Incidentally, if you haven’t yet seen The King’s Speech, SEE IT. It’s fantastic.
Sharon Stone has a rockin’ body for her age, but that hair makes her look like Cruella DeVille.
Celine Dion looks nice, considering she’s been mummified. Not everyone can pull off the mummy look.
Hilary Swank – you know what? I will never like dresses which have feathers on them. I think it’s a basic Mock Dress Philosophy – that dresses and feathers do not belong together.
Annette Bening. Dislike.
Halle Berry would look gorgeous regardless, but the bottom of this dress is a disaster. It’s like she got stuck in one of those cotton candy making machines.
Nicole Kidman – Dislike. I don’t know what her deal is with heavy embroidered dresses, but I don’t like it. Yuck.
FAVORITE. Reese Witherspoon is completely flawless. Her hair is gorgeous, the dress is gorgeous – everything about this look is perfection. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Penelope Cruz – Dislike. This looks like a dance competition dress, not a red carpet dress.
Charcoal gray on the red carpet? Yes. If you’re Helen Mirren, and you look that totally HOT when you’re in you’re 60′s, then YES.
You know what? I want to dislike Gwyneth Paltrow’s dress, but I don’t. I don’t LOVE it, but I don’t hate it.
Natalie Portman looks adorable, and has completely redeemed herself after that dreadful Golden Globe get-up.
I think I’m supposed to like Sandra Bullock’s dress, and I think I mostly do, but I’m bothered by her make-up and hair – it’s too severe, and there’s no jewelry to distract from it.
